The Salnés is one of the most outstanding sub-areas of the D.O. Rias Baixas, and gets its name from the homonym Valley and and comarca (traditional region or local administrative division). It is located on the North coast of the province of Pontevedra, between the Rias of Pontevedra and Arousa. With an extension of more than 250 km 2, it is one of the regions with higher density of Galicia and one of which presented a more dynamic economic or demographic.

Its rich and varied landscape allow to enjoy the Interior with viewpoints and hiking trails through green valleys and lush mountains, or the coast with magnificent beaches with European Blue Flag distinctive of environmental quality, and protected spaces like the Umia-O Grove inter-tidal complex. The Salnés possesses a rich cultural, artistic and archaeological heritage, emphasized by the numerous cruceiros (stone crosses), hórreos (granaries) and muiños (mills of water), the beauty of its churches and chapels and the lordship of its pazos (Galician manor house). These attractions added to others such as the gastronomy or the festivities make an attractive overview even for the most demanding tourists.

The municipality of Meaño, located between Sanxenxo, Cambados, Ribadumia and Meis, is the heart of the Salnés that combines the natural beauty of its landscapes with the most emblematic images of the Rural Galicia like few others. The Winery is located in the Dena, the most densely populated town of the municipality and where some of the most important companies in the area bring together, as well as a growing services sector.
