Val do Salnés is one of the most renowned subzones of the Rías Baixas Designation of Origin, named after the valley and region it encompasses. It is located on the northern coast of the province of Pontevedra, between the estuaries (rías) of Arousa and Pontevedra, covering an area of just over 250 km². This region is known for its high population density and dynamic local economy.
Its diverse landscape offers a perfect balance between inland and coastal beauty — from scenic viewpoints and hiking trails through lush valleys and wooded hills, to magnificent Blue Flag beaches and protected natural areas such as the Umia–O Grove intertidal complex. Val do Salnés also boasts a rich cultural, artistic, and archaeological heritage, with countless stone crosses, granaries (hórreos), watermills, and the elegance of its churches, chapels, and manor houses (pazos). Added to these are the region’s gastronomy, traditions, and festivities, creating an exceptionally appealing destination even for the most discerning visitors.
The municipality of Meaño, located between Sanxenxo, Cambados, Ribadumia, and Meis, lies at the very heart of Val do Salnés. It combines the natural beauty of its landscapes with the most emblematic images of rural Galicia. The winery is situated in Dena, the most densely populated parish in the municipality, home to some of the area’s leading businesses and a thriving service sector.
